Accessing early childhood development resources can be challenging
Often times, educational resources can be complicated, expensive, and daunting. We wanted to create an app that allows parents to know exactly where their kid is at on their educational journey and give them the tools to support their growth right from their phone.
What are the best tools to improve a child's learning development?

We started to plan out the various avenues parents could interact and view important educational growth insights for their child.
Using the founders 14 years of experience researching early childhood development along with research on Montessori learning methods, we planned out the following features:
Evaluation
Game-like setting for your child to answer questions and evaluate each learning domain
Personalized Lessons
Activities to enhance your child's growth, tailored based on the evaluation results
Educational Progress Report
Simple way to understand where your child is excelling and identify areas of growth

Answer any burning questions parents may have about their child's learning journey
Creating an easy to use evaluation test can propel a child's learning journey. We designed a test that could do that from your fingertips.
The most unique feature in our app was our AI-powered evaluation test that listens, records, and analyzes children's performance in real time. This test prioritizes personalized and accessible testing solutions, allowing parents to understand specific progress in categories such as language, cognition, motor, social emotion, and adaptive behavior.
We wanted to make sure that this part of the app was heavily tested and iterated to make it the most user friendly for kids. Due to the app's subsequent resources relying on the results of this evaluation, we wanted to make sure that we were able to get true indicators on the child's progress. We tested the prototype with kids ranging from 3 to 5 years old and came to this finalized product.

We turned evaluation results into tangible reports, meeting parents where they're at
It was important for us to create informative but easy-to-use reports from the evaluations.
After talking with childhood psychologists on the formatting and information included in formal reports, we landed on our version.
The screen below shows our language report. It includes specific domains and collapsable boxes for parents that want to read into the technical aspects. There is also an easily digestible bar that shows current progress at a glance and bulleted recommendations.
Looking Forward
AI Chatbot
An AI chatbot designed to help parents answer education-related questions for their children would be highly beneficial by providing quick, accurate, and personalized support. Additionally, it could provide tailored recommendations based on a child's evaluation results, age, and learning style, ensuring more relevant and effective guidance.

Key Considerations
-
Provide a user-friendly interface that accommodates varying levels of tech literacy, delivers clear and empathetic language, and incorporates accessibility features for diverse users
-
Prioritize privacy and data security, as parents may share sensitive information about their child's education
-
Consider integrating multimodal support, such as text, voice, and interactive elements, to enhance usability and engagement
Personalized Lessons
Personalized lessons based on evaluation data offer a tailored learning experience that adapts to the unique needs and progress of each student, improving engagement and outcomes.
By leveraging data to understand a child's strengths, weaknesses, and learning style, the app can provide more relevant content that enhances retention and understanding. This approach can make learning more efficient by focusing on areas that need improvement while also reinforcing strengths.
